I SAID YES TO THE MAN~NOW I NEED TO SAY YES TO THE DRESS...

The holidays are gone & now we can get back to the basics of everyday life. Some of us at least. For many the holidays brought on overjoyed excitement for surprise proposals and some were expected. A day many women dream of.  To encounter that special moment when you find yourself saying
Yes, Yes, I'll Marry You

While many of us are putting the decorations away others are pulling out the bridal books in anticipation of finding that perfect wedding dress. It actually starts that quickly. After the excitement of going from a couple to a newly engaged couple speaks volumes for two they are ready to be united as one.

drezrehersal Tip... Before you start the process of viewing dresses or anything that pertains to the wedding; Set a budget. There's nothing more heart breaking to have a bride view something they just can't afford. Not a way to start the planning process. Sit down with all those who will be financially involved & create a realistic budget, that you'll be able to follow without going into debt. Seek out a professional to assist if necessary.

Sophistication & Style with  designer Jenny Lee
the details...Now that you have a budget set. There are a few housekeeping items you should review before looking at dresses. Deciding on the ambiance & style you would like your wedding to represent. This is important in selecting the appropriate dress in keeping with the look & feel bride & groom to be desire to have for your dream wedding. Including the perfect venue location.

the drezrehersal...This wedding season you will see more bridal designs that are simple, soft & sophisticated. Wedding gowns that accentuate the bride best accents while giving her a glow that is undeniable. As a bride-to-be you'll have hundreds of options to choose from. A Fab Favorite for me this year is designer Jenny Lee. Her dresses are life changing & timeless. Life changing as you are making a leap into one of the most important decisions of your life & timeless ; you will look back on year's later not regretting the  dress decision you made. Jenny's gowns are renowned for their fit and support. They are fully constructed both inside and out. Additionally, the gowns are fully lined with silk, so the bride will look & feel exceptional on her wedding day.

the I Do's... TRUST me you will immediately know when you have found thee gown for your wedding day. The feeling should be similar to how you felt when your love ask you for your hand in marriage. All warm & tingly inside filled with emotion's of tears & joy.

Its your day & your decision. Be influence by the whisper in you, not the team you brought along with you. drezrehersal Tip... Always a good idea to invite someone who isn't too critical or un-supportive of your upcoming nuptials: Mom, Best Friend & even your Wedding Planner. That's it. Too many people leave room for too many opinions, which will leave you stressed & confused.

Once you make your final decision the consultants at Jenny Lee's salon will get your exact measurements, incorporate into a specialized sizing specifications to create a one-of-a-kind fit for you the bride-to-be. This is the closest to a "couture" experience a bride can get & ultimately shows in the finished product.

Let's Go Shopping... Make a day of it with your mom & best friend. Start by driving up the coast to Newport Beach. First stop; Jenny Lee Bridal at Crystal Cove Promenade After having your breath taking away by viewing her beautiful gowns. Then have a nice lunch on the promenade while enjoying a chilled glass of champagne in celebration of finding the perfect dress you'll say I Do in. To make sure you receive the VIP treatment at any bridal salon, always schedule an appointment before hand. The day is so special you want to make sure you receive the intimate experience  you deserve.

the I Do's... of Black Marriage Day

ARE YOU
MARRIED & PROUD OF IT?
Today March 27th more than 300 community groups nationwide will host film screenings, talks, and red carpet gala events inducting local couples into the Black Marriage Hall of Fame.

I’ve been blessed to choose a career I absolutely love with a passion. Seeing couples dreams come to reality is a joy in itself. However, with that comes much responsibility, trust & new found friendships. I could honestly say we become the blueprint that keeps the couple on solid ground during the planning process & far often after the I Do’s. OK let’s get in out the way now. Yes, I’m single & my love is to GOD, but I’m married, committed & respect my craft. Being a Wedding & Event Planner for over 18 years I have acquired much experience & wisdom spending an enormous amount of time with not only my clients, but their immediate family members. It’s a commitment we whole heartily believe in and share the importance of it during consultation. It can’t be about the wedding, but the process which develops into a strong union.

Ask yourself these questions before the I Do’s
~ Is he/she right for you?
~ Does he/she L ♥ v e God with his/her whole heart and soul?
~ Does he/she actively try to know God’s will for his/her life?
~ Is he/she praying man/woman?
~ Does his/her actions align with his/her words?
~ Is he/she trustworthy?

The answer should be YES to all… Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? In order to have a healthy relationship always remember you are no longer “Singular” its “Plural” about “US”. The couple must focus on the lord first in order to make it work. Always put him first and you will walk hand-hand, side-by-side. Make him the center, not mommy, sister, girlfriend, the guys, your stylist or the ultimate betrayal another man or woman. Your mate or spouse should be your best friend and all communications must be with each other with guidance from god. I think you get the picture.

L ♥VE & Marriage Recipe:

Marriage is a serious commitment & you must look pass the bling, because once all is said and done & your guests have celebrated with you, eaten with you & cried tears of joy with you. The real planning process is just beginning. Learning to be a husband & wife. This requires a list of ingredients that must be marinated well in order for the recipe of Love & Marriage to succeed.

Ingredients:
1-Cup of God
1-Cup of Respect
1-Cup of Commitment
1-Cup of Communication
1-Cup of Intimacy
Directions: All ingredients must be mix well & each partner must contribute their full portion of the required ingredients for the partnership to work.
Disclaimer: Do not substitute recipe

drezrehersal Tip... You're no longer
“Singular” its “Plural” about  the "UNION"
My 5 Tips for a Successful Marriage:

1. GOD (A Must) Husband, L ♥ V E your Wives, Just as Christ L ♥ V E the Church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any blemish, but holy and blameless.
He who L ♥ V ES his Wife L ♥ V ES Himself, For this reason a Man will leave his Father and Mother and be United to his Wife, and the two will become one flesh. Ephesians 5:22, 31

For Better or Worst I Choose Him First

2. RESPECT (For Each Other) This should be an area that needs no explaining what’s so ever, but we know each day won’t be peaches & cream and neither will your attitude. What goes on in your household stays within the foundation of your union. Respect each other enough to keep your business your business as well as stand hand in hand when in others presence. The Union should walk in agreement with each other & of course that won’t happen all the time; however it shouldn’t be broadcasted in front of others. If there is a disagreement with eyes watching go with the flow & discuss it at a later time when you both are alone. RESPECT the Union at all times.

3. COMMITMENT (No Matter What) The important thing is that you keep your heart right and don’t lose hope. Don’t allow discouragement, your busy schedule or the hurts from your past to cause you to miss what God is doing in your life and marriage. Most importantly, don’t give up on being blown away by God’s favor. Once you say I Do be fully committed to the development of the relationship-No Matter What.

4. COMMUNICATION (Partnership) a close mouth doesn’t get fed & no one is a mind reader. If there is an issue discuss it! Communicating is about effective listening. You can’t be listening clearly if you are all geared-up and ready to speak your opinion or rebuttal. So often we aren’t truly listening to one another & when you’re angry; your guard immediately goes up. Communication is an on going stimulate good, bad or in-different. Share your wants, needs and concerns with your partner on a daily basis. And most importantly communicate with God. Husband Pray for your Wives & Wives Pray for your Husbands. Seek him & communicate for humbleness, open heart, direction and blessings over your marriage.

5. INTIMACY (Not Sex) Whatever you did to get each others attention prior to marriage. You must continue throughout the marriage. Court each other, date one another, hold hands, leave special messages in different areas of the home, call your spouse for no apparent reason at all., send them a text and say just because. Make a constant authentic effort to continue all the special things you did when you were just a couple dating. The simplest pleasures will keep your significant other beaming ear-to-ear. God designed marriage to be one human relationship that guarantees authenticity and the intimacy it produces. You shouldn’t have to look any farther than your own marriage to find your most intimate and meaningful relationship. And above all pray that God will continue to provide you and your spouse the gift of emotional intimacy.

Just Let Go...He Is Yours & You Hers So
WHATEVER Goes

drezrehersal Tip… I want you to create a details L♥ V E box, chest anything you like to store cherished keepsakes of why you feel in l♥ve with this man or woman. I want each of you to place 6-8 items that were given to you by each other or from a momentous occasion during your courtship. Keep it where you can see it daily and after the wedding when times get rough either or both of you go to it and remember why you fell in l♥ve and what each of you brought to the relationship that made you say this is the prefect Man/Woman for me. Your disagreements may not seem so important when you look back on what made both of you say I Do.

BITTER to BETTER PART II

In the Process of Finding & Loosing
Love~ You Found You...

A Mini Love Story on Finding & Loosing Love
Read BITTER to BETTER PART I

You arrived & showed up ready to go with your sweet nothings & overzealous ways to impress & court me 100%. The journey of us wanting to know one another more is amazingly blissful, my heart can barely contain the steady beats, but my head is saying GIRL please this isn't a fairy tale this is reality & you better get real & recognize the storm is coming. You take a moment & evaluate the situation as if its a business plan, but should be more like a partnership out-weighing the pros & cons. Before you know it a revelation has presented itself! This could be the best relationship you have ever encountered, just what LOVE should be. You start to understand the only storm that is coming is your past meets present. You're bringing past hurts into your present & turning something GREAT into "BITTERNESS"  from the past. Just because you were disappointed in the past doesn't mean its your present.

One thing women need to learn is how to release past hurts. What you're holding on too as luggage can jeopardize your future. Life is about many lessons- you either get it or you continue to go through life with a knife in your heart that you just can't seem to pull out. So as you try & move on to the next relationship you wonder why your heart still hearts.

What needs to be the Life Lesson is God has a "BETTER" plan for you. Yes, that old saying you need to kiss a few frogs to receive your prince. It goes both both ways- its called dating for a reason. Don't get wrapped-up & all involved in the dating process & mistake he/she for Is This The One? Before you can be 100% with your future prince you must be one with yourself. Love You~Learn You~Be You before you can be a friend, girlfriend, wife to your prince. He's out there & waiting for you, however your time-line & plan is not what matters. Once God is complete with you , he will openly send you your destine mate because you are now open to receive & be a "Better" you.

Align your gifts, talents & know you deserve "Better".  It's God's priority for you to have a mate that will honor you & cherish you as the Queen you are. From this day forward step out of "Bitter" & move towards to "Better". Leave your past hurts in the past so you're able to openly receive your "Better". Relationships take work, however know when Bitter should be Better & if you aren't receiving respect than its time to pack your bags, honor yourself and move on to the present, as there's a "Better" prince in your future.

drezrehersal Tip... Act in Faith & not Fear, that its God's plan for you to recognize Better want Better because you deserve "BETTER".

Disclaimer: This story is based on a one-on-one with a beautiful individual.

BITTER to BETTER PART I

A Mini Story of Finding
& Loosing Love

Thinking back to the beginning when the sky's opened-up & you had my heart, my mind all wrapped-up in you. The days when everything was effortless, but the anticipation of getting to know you more was magical. Magical that we both wanted the same thing to know more than what was on the surface. Too know ones dreams, aspirations & desires for life. You listen mesmerized to the every breath that I breathe without interruption. Just wanting to know me on a deeper level. Taking it way back to courting, chivalry the way our parents did it. Could this be a dream? Let me pinch myself too good to be true you say? Our conversations would be for hours on end; closing down the restaurants to look-up & be the only patrons still there. The people, good food, great ambiance didn't matter. The most important thing at that very moment I was with you & you with me & we were learning something new about one another every chance we got. Even when we weren't together you made sure I was thought of if only for a moment & vice verse. Yes, we were courting & it felt so good. I had no problem showing you just how much I was feeling you. Romantic dinners even after a long day of work, taking walks through the canyons & discovering new sites not only with the universe, but in each other. As we said our evening good byes we hug for long intense moments like we would never see each other again. Finally to let go after what seemed like 15 mins. to walk away & continue turning back often a wink or to blow a kiss. The essence of falling in "LOVE" is hitting us both like a mack truck. The words go Un-spoken, but we both know we want more of what we our now calling a committed relationship.

Now is the pressure on? Will things change now that we are definitely an item? I'm yours-you're mine, however not so much as property. We have total respect for each another & the connection is mutual. You continue to tell me there's so much I want to share with you, do with you bring you into my world 100%. I want to court you & treat you as the queen you are. You questioned once again could this be true? Is this real? Just waiting for that thunder storm to come in. The skies have been sunny for way too long the thunder storm is coming you tell yourself. But until then your rain protection is on & internally you continue to enjoy the ride. You look forward to the good morning calls-he saying babe have a beautiful day & some added extras of sweetness, followed by a text saying "TOU" code for Thinking of You, along with weekly deliveries of something that only he knew was special to you. The connection, the communication, the substance you're receiving was oh so tender & sweet.

Months-Months go by you both have put in time with the relationship. What's the Catch? You're still waiting on the thunder storm this is too good to be true. Now he's discussing a future with you, he tells you he's even more motivated to expand his business because of you. You bring inspiration to him, however this causes him to put in more time. It sounds good in the beginning but slowly the quality time is taken away from you, the communication is still there. You see he's trying to juggle it all, but you start to give him grief. What use to be several days a week of quality time has turned into 1 maybe 2. You're not happy with it at all & make it know. You start to turn something GREAT into BITTER & sabotage the relationship. Internally you always felt it was just too magical & maybe you didn't deserve a man like this. Could it have been the perfect scenario to hurt him before he hurt you?

Stay Tuned for Part II Bitter to Better. A Mini Story of Finding & Loosing Love. Have you ever thought you meet Mr. Right, but the timing was all wrong? Please share by replying with a comment to this post.
