A. Thank You. As a young professional that is my favorite compliment. To keep an interest in hair styling, I take breaks away from it. Stepping away from the styling chair allows you to see all of the different trends and styles that are out there. Your clients want you to be innovative so its important for me to take the time to branch out while keeping a fresh perspective.

Take Six Q4. This is a question I'm sure our readers want to know. If a client brought you a photo of a style she was wanting and you knew it didn't work for her. Do you practice the customer is always right or do you keep it real and why?

A. When that happens, I always ask them to consider their occupation and lifestyle. Will their hair texture or up keep skills work with that look? There are a thousand questions that can be asked to ensure you meet the clients wants and needs. I'm definitely always honest with my clients.

Take Six Q5. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. That main tree is your Mom my client Ms. Tonya's of Hollywood who is currently working on the ABC hit show Scandal. You have acquired your celebrity styling status by creating your brand on your own terms. Please share a few words of wisdom and encouragement to stylists who desire to be where you are now and the main points they should focused on.

A. “Originality”. There are an enormous of professionals educated in this field. You “Must Stand Out” and show what makes you unique. “Perception” People should know you're a stylist at first glance. “Focus”on what YOU do well. I'm an extension/color specialist, I experiment and enhance my craft with furthering my education as often as possible. Don't minimize your craft by not continuing to educate yourself or others. Never get so big in the head to learn more; from anyone, all artist have something to share.
