September 4, 2011 It's B's Birthday... We like to wish Beyonce a very Happy Birthday. Many look at turning 30 as an important time in ones life. I disagree. You are just getting started and coming into your own. For Beyonce she has most definitely reach a highpoint in her life, but I'm pretty sure this is just the beginning. Think about it... I see this year as a moment in time she'll never forget. The triple threat DIVA turning "Thirty". Good things come in 3's. She recently announced she & husband Jay Z are expecting their first child and she's turning Thirty. Hmmmm.... What will the third good thing B? Leave it to Beyonce it could be anything. Just maybe they'll be another little surprise in store.


I admire Beyonce, because she's living her life out loud. No matter what you think about her, The triple threat diva is laying her mark on the world. The good fortune is only beginning and no one deserves it more. Embracing Love, Passion, & Play. And boy did it show as she walked the VMA's red carpet recently announcing to the world; "We're Expecting". Then to top it off and put on an amazing performance singing "Baby It's You".  Her performance AMAZE me so much I had to tweet it to my followers as if I was there live myself: Beyonce a Class Act... FABULOUS performance on #VMA Baby It's You Means More Now than Ever. Congratulations!!!

REFLECTING ON THE YEAR
"FOOD FOR THE SOUL"

Dear Kimberly (Me),

Another year has come & gone, so much to reflect on. Where should I start... A year of dreams, promises, challenges and disappointments. The best part of it all. I'm Still Standing. Standing tall filled with inspiration and ready for what I know will be my best year yet. WHY? I discovered loving me on a level that is undeniably the greatest pleasure of knowing thyself. Highly flavored with flaws & all. This Dear Kimberly letter is a Love Letter to Me on the most precious month of all. My Birthday month. Every year I write a letter to myself reflecting on the past year. (View last year's letter) Birthday's are a celebration of you. The best present you can give yourself is PUSH each year to be a better you. Reflect, Refine and Research your trails, tribulations and transform them into positive assessments.

My Glamourscope via Glamour Magazine says: It's Going To Be A Big Love Month. Which makes my Birthday Letter title just Perfect! The full moon in Pisces on the 12th and the new moon in Libra on the 27th will cast a dreamy glow over all of us-a cue to let your inner Aphrodite call the shots. Wear a pretty dress, write a love letter to your man, chat up the ridiculously hot IT guy or just indulge in a romantic-comedy marathon. Then decide with whom you want to reenact it, and make it happen on either of those days-or both!

Whew... What a month I have in store. The love letter is covered with minor revisions; to Me and well play everything else by ear. Lot's to look forward to. The Glamourscope is all in fun. Learning not to take yourself so seriously while handling business when need be and the pleasure when time permits. Regardless of your age its never too late to improve you. Taking the proper steps to reflect and discover your calling. Just what I do every year at this time. Me stepping out on faith, hope & grace has kept me having a positive attitude, even when things aren't a bouquet of roses. I'm constantly working on Me. If God can continue to love me unconditional. Then I surly should do the same with no whining & no regrets.

My title for this post is “LOVE Letter to ME”. Taking care of numero uno is essential in life. Learning to live a lifestyle that is pleasing to God, while meditating continuously on Mind~Body and Soul is key for me. One of Virgo's traits is wanting to keep the peace and making sure everyone is happy. It took me a few years to learn that its a balancing act with your happiness & others happiness. Keeping the peace isn't always an option. God wants us to love our neighbors and treat each other with respect. Forget about that old saying respect is earned. That quote definitely isn't in the bible. And getting & receiving respect doesn't always happen which brings me to my Aha point. You must learn to love from a distance. What is good for you, may not be good for me. You can love it, but I don't need to like it. I have a higher calling to answer to and that is my ultimate focus. Below I'm going to share a few LOVE HONORS that I vowel to myself  for my Birthday and honoring into the 2012 year.

LOVE HONOR: A vowel, commitment, promise that one makes to themselves in order to live their best life in the eyes of all that is GOD's Greatness.

COUNTDOWN...OK this year I'm honoring LOVE and for the next 22 days up until my Birthday September 22nd I'll share I Honor Love By... To see my daily “LOVE HONOR” Like our Facebook Page or Follow Us on Twitter. That's where my LOVE messages honoring Me, will be shared. Loving you isn't a selfish act. Its loving you enough to honor all the greatness God has in store for your life, while you're here on earth. God has a remarkable purpose for your life, So what you have to do is follow him, believing that he'll keep directing you. Without battles, there is no blessings! And, there's no better time then now to honor yourself and live your best life.

Over the next 22 days you'll see insight into my aspirations, goals and dreams going forward. In addition you'll feel my words and life lessons I learned over this year. Although I'm all about the details I'm not perfect and have made some great successes, but also came across a few disappointments. The disappointments are stepping stones for me not to repeat but delete from my life. I review my year much like an entertainment system. There are three buttons I refer to Play (Following God's Footsteps) Rewind (Time to Assess) Pause (Delete) This means in business and personal life. If you want greatness in life you need to have the right players. In any sport when the players aren't working they get traded to another team. If their lucky. Its important to take time before the New Year to assess the same for your life. My time is before my Birthday. I do this because I know my worth and next to God loving me. I must look in the mirror everyday and there is no other option but to “LOVE ME”.

1. I Honor Love By... Putting my love of GOD above all other loves.

Last week this song was sent to me with a note and honestly the timing couldn't have been better.  I knew back in July what the title of this Birthday letter would be. It never ceases to amaze me that when I'm working on a project the universe will send hints along the way. When you're in tune with self & lean on your spiritual connection, listen closely for an approval or dis-approval. The lyrics of this song is beyond inspirational and the essence of a love letter .

I highly recommend to honor you and write your own love letter to self. Extremely therapeutic. Should you like to share your letter with us, please send to ASK KIMBERLY. I must warn you though I will honor your words and hold you accountable for "ACTIONS".

With each year should come "WISDOM". If you're not growing, then you're not "SOWING" the right "SEEDS".

I Corinthians 13:11-14: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully know. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

DEAR KIMBERLY...THE YEAR OF FINDING MYSELF "29"

In a recent blog post titled GLAM'ONDAY ALERT~BIRTHDAY LETTER COUNTDOWN. I expressed details on something that I do every year. And since starting the details...the drezrehersal...the I Do's... where we share all thing events, weddings, relationships and lifestyle planning. What's near & dear to my heart is sharing my life experiences in personal & business with others. It's one of several "Golden Nuggets" I vowed to share once I reached a certain milestone in life.  I truly believe in providing knowledge to others who may be trying to reach a simpler lifestyle. GOD wants us to share our gifts with others and that will be my Birthday gift to you on September 1st. Before closing my last week's post I mentioned this statement.

We'll I received many emails & tweets and I like to share a Dear Kimberly letter from Miss. Shivawn A. Mitchell. Dear Kimberly,

Twenty Nine brought success, let downs, tears, excitement, inconsistency and eventually at the Aha Epiphany moment. At 29 Lady you were the poster child and spokesperson for the “Jack of all Trades and a Master of None”. You went from starting a online magazine to a women’s network and then your own book. But, the book stuck! Instead of pleasing yourself you were caught up in pleasing others in business ventures & in your personal life and that has never been you! You’ve lost friends, gained new ones.  Now you finally understand that it’s better to have a few good ones then a lot of posers. You've questioned where your “Guy” was and when the heck you would  leave that 9 to 5?

Through all the tears and laughs your book made you realize that failures and blunt truthfulness about life and being a LADY was your platform and true purpose in life! Thankful for the sunshine in recognizing your purpose. Later 29 it’s been some lessons.
30 is all about defining you and leaving your mark and giving it my best shot! I thought turning 30 would be a big pity party but instead it has turned into a BIG dream, bigger party and I LOVE it! I want so much in life, but instead of just hoping and not having a plan I have a master plan!

Unlike last year I have a plan on how I’m going to achieve these goals. I won’t go another day complaining about my situation but instead I will see what life is trying to teach me and learn from it. I want to inspire people,  so that means I need to give of my talents a little more. And I will operate by my new found personal mantra: I will no longer apologize for embracing & becoming who I am. I have survived much to qualify for this season in my life. I will not beg anyone to be a part of my life or business plans. I will inspire and shine light to help others. I am fabulous just the way I am. I AM a change agent!

Today we're taking a different direction to our GLAM'ONDAY ALERT... Each week we bring you all things Events, Fashion, Beauty and on occasion Food for the Soul Tips & Suggestions. Today is special as it starts my thirty one day countdown to what I call each year; A moment in time to not only celebrate me, but also reflect on the year. If you haven't guess yet... The correct answer will be my "BIRTHDAY".


LET'S GET IT STARTED...


Every year I write a letter to myself which reflects on ; Where I've Been; Where I'm Going and How I Can Be a Better Me. Last year "2010" my letter consisted of many transformations.

Hopefully my thoughts and learning experiences this past year can help at least one individual make changes for where they are and P.U.S.H (Push~Until~Something~Happens) to follow a dream, a goal or a promise you have made to yourself. There's no better time than the present to get started. I've come FULL CIRCLE once again and I'm humbly thankful for the simple pleasure's of life. The bigger picture in life is nice, but I'm just ecstatically grateful for "BREATH" each day. Thank you heavenly father for giving me that and as long as I follow your principles there will be greater pleasures in store for me.

Placing your desires down in writing holds you accountable for your life. What you don't accomplished or even try. You have no one to blame but yourself. If you take anything from this post today know GOD has a better plan for your life. He expects nothing but goodness & greatness from you. GLAM'ONDAY ALERT... CASTING~TAKING YOUR POWER BACK!~SEQUEL

Less than a week left until its "2011"  What are you changing if anything at all? Change is good and there's no time like the present to make re-writes in your life. Why do I say re-writes? Well life is much like a movie, a true story which you are the lead cast member. Every movie has a storyline sometimes its a feel good , action, love story, drama & even a thriller. First step to a movie is the writer. There must be a writer to get the storyline going. Once the script is complete you need to pitch it to the studios, then start the casting process that also includes who the director & producer will be. Does any of this sound familiar yet? Let no one write your movie but you, it's your life & your journey. Should you decide you want a feel good movie with a love story ending or do you prefer lots of drama that can ultimately be a thriller in the end? Create a vision board & set goals for where you like your life to be. Start small & do 2-3 yrs out and once you get the hang of it re-write do long term 5-7 yrs. If you can see it daily you'll be able to envision the storyline even more.

Who's the Director of Your Life?

Recently I watched the WIZ for the umpteenth time. One of my childhood favorite movies, which brings back feel good feelings, since my Nana took me to see it when I was about 10 or 11 yrs old. The first time seeing it I didn't quite understand it completely, but loved the music & storyline & hearing Diane Ross singing When I Think of Home. I get chills every time I hear that song very powerful. If you really listen to the words it says a lot. The older I got the more & more that song meant to me. That you could achieve & be anything in life if only you Believe. The WIZ is a perfect movie if you are trying to Take Your Power Back. Cast: Dorothy-Wanted to get Back Home ;Scarecrow- Wanted a Brain; Tin Man- Wanted a Heart; The Lion- Wanted Courage. Long story short in the end they had everything they needed all along, but just took sometime to BELIEVE.

So let's review: The Writer: (You) Producer: (You setting goals)  Director: Following God's footsteps & not mans footsteps and Cast: Surrounding yourself with like minded individuals who are on the same path as you. There's an old saying my mother use to tell me. You are the company you keep. If you want better you must allow yourself to be better. It's OK if something isn't working, just know when its time to move on & end the sequel. Create a movie of substance that you can be proud of & want to re-wind ,play all the time. Those are the movies to be cherished that you can always pull out watch over & over. Just as I do with the WIZ- I learn something new each & every time I watch it.

With the New Year quickly approaching it's not only a time of celebration, but also reflection. Reflecting on what's working & what isn't working in you or around you. I had a conversation with a good friend recently on "Taking Her Power Back".  An Aha Moment shared between two friends the power you recognize in yourself, however have a momentary set back to please someone other than you. I often share with my clients, friends & associates; If you're no good to yourself, how can you be good for someone else.

GLAM'ONDAY ALERT... means more to us than just beauty & fashion. GLAM'ONDAY is about sharing, connecting with ones true self to make them a better person in life. That inner beauty that shines beyond you & brings out your best qualities, which in turn radiates to others.

I'M TAKING MY POWER BACK...




"POWER" is Glamorous-not a controlling power where one runs the opposite direction of you because they see you coming. To be a strong self-sufficient individual where you're completely in control of your life & lead by your example & not what you think others expect or want from/out of you. If you have lost yourself in some way "NOW" is the time to take your "POWER" back and let your true self shine through. You are a priceless jewel that exceeds ever definition of Glam. In order to achieve this surround yourself with like minded individuals who are on the same path as you. No, I'm not saying they need to be exactly like you, however in order to achieve Greatness you must surround yourself with Greatness. Individuals who hi-light your enthusiasm & not drain it like they are taking a vile of blood. You can totally tell when someones energy has been kidnapped. How? It shows on your face the natural radiance you desire to have with a life of peace & happiness has been kidnapped. A Fabulous Life of pure happiness is out there for you to enjoy, so grab hold of it and don't look back.

I CAN SMILE AGAIN...

This post is inspired from a recent interview Rihanna gave to Marie Claire UK for their December issue. Rihanna reveals in a cover story in the December 2010 issue of Marie Claire UK. Access Hollywood reported that she told the magazine, "I feel like I smile for real this time. The smiles come from inside, and it exudes in everything I do. People feel my energy is different. When I smile they can tell that it's pure bliss and not just a cover up."

I'm truly happy for Rihanna in expressing to the world just how she feels after going through probably one of the most difficult times in life.  Although Rihanna is in the public limelight and many think they deserve to know her every move; simply not true. A entertainer by profession but when the the studio session is over, awards shows are a wrap and you're trying to go on with your normal day-day activity, she is still human. Someone who has happy times as well as disappointing moments. We all go through trails & tribulations over our lifetime hers was/is just magnified by the media, which makes it even more difficult.

That's why I'm inspired to write I Can Smile Again. Who doesn't want to smile everyday? What does that exactly mean? For me its a no brainier something I choose to do without any excuses or negativity by those who want to be the victim in life. I've expressed in a past drezrehersal Tip... Know your "WORTH"only you can put a determination on whats real & whats counterfeit. Everything that glitters isn't always gold. Often times we judge ones life by what we see on the outside, however what may look all put together on the outside, could very well be broken on the inside. You never know what goes on behind closed doors for there are a lot of people who are living a counterfeit life.

Of course I go through challenges in life , but it makes me want to excel & push life obstacles back even harder. I refuse to be a victim of fear, anger, anxiety, lack or hopelessness. I thrive on "FAITH", "HOPE", "CONFIDENCE", "JOY", "GRACE" and favorable blessings of "PEACE" in my life. My ultimate source of my destined direction is provider by a higher power & for that I Can Smile knowing he will never forsake me; stand by me through the good times of life & hold me-up during the difficult moments. We all have them so trust that you Can Smile Again when you are at your darkest moment & have faith that, this too shall pass.

22 Reasons to a "Better Me"

1. When you finally arrive to be completely comfortable in your own skin. Ultimately
a refreshing feeling.

2. Loving Life, Loving Me, In Love with Work. The secret recipe is having a “PASSION” for all three.

3. That inner voice we hear. Its called “Intuition”~”Believe It” and “Listen to It”.

4. Once you become in-tune w/ yourself- your life direction will become clearer to finding lasting happiness & fulfillment.

5. On your journey to GREATNESS, remember to be a blessing to someone else that may be striving for where you are now.

6. In order to move forward, sometimes you must leave a few behind.

7. Dreaming is like flower, in order for the flower to grow you must water it, talk to it and give it attention. The analogy is: Nurture the flower~ Nurture your DREAM.

16. Welcoming the Universe~Asking for what you want, Believe it shall come to path and don't dwell on it, let it go and sit back and listen closely for God's blessing.

17. Indulge in the simplest pleasures of life. LIVE life to the fullest, LOVE unconditionally, LAUGH until you need a glass of water.

Birthday Letter in Search of a "Better Me"


~Starters~I know for most of us we start off by reading our daily horoscope for the day. If it says something wonderful we believe it. If its not exactly what we want to hear we call it hog wash. We'll I must admit occasionally I do view my daily horoscope, but regardless if the outcome is favorable or not so favorable ; I know it's just something to get me going. What I read doesn't make what will happen for that day. I make what will happen for that day, by my thoughts and actions. So for the sake of FUN I'm going to share what my Horoscope says for the month of September provided by Glamour Magazine Glamourscope & Cosmo Astrologer. Just to give you an insight my Birthday falls on the cusp, so sometimes I'm a Virgo and other times I'm a Libra. I'm definitely a true VIRGO though.

Living life like everyday is a FABULOUS Party...

Every year prior to my Birthday month I reflect on the year and review goals, dreams ambitions I have set out for myself. Whether I have accomplished them or not. Life isn't a dress rehearsal and each day counts for something. Life is short and it goes by so quickly. I remember when I was 29 and let it be know I'm still 29 (smile). One thing I can truly say is I'm blessed to have good genes. Thank you Mommy. It doesn't stop there though, but I'll get into a little later. Celebrating another birthday is a blessing and not to reflect on your life is a disadvantage to the growth of you as an individual. I started with the horoscope to set a tone, that it's all in FUN, however my daily recipe for guidance in my life is "GOD". Without him nothing is possible and my guidance & direction for my life comes from faith and daily prayer. Each morning the first thing I do is pray and give thanks for another day along with Reading Today's Word from Joel & Victoria Osteen and then watching my morning pick me up with Creflo Dollar. Having a strong foundation of faith is key and the shield to get me through each day. I would be dishonest if I said I don't encounter obstacles, however if you follow my Blog you will know where I stand on overcoming obstacles, so I won't go into it here.

I recently wrote an article for Weddzilla on 5 Things I Recommend Every Women To Do Prior To Marriage ~ Life Lessons In Search for Happiness. The responses and replies I received were overwhelming and I was ask to share more tips on Life Lessons In Search for Happiness. Over the month of September, I will share 22 Reasons Why I'm a Better Me. Why 22? because it's my Birthday. Celebrating your Birthday is a moment in time to reflect on your life. If things aren't going perfectly for you, you didn't get the promotion, you broke it off with your boyfriend or girlfriend, you're not where you expected to be in life; those are all just obstacles that you may have encounter. It doesn't mean it will be that way forever. It's your life and if you want better things to happen then you need to stepped out on faith and push, pray until your dream has come true. No one makes it happen for me, but "ME" I create my own destiny and have the determination and ambition to succeed as far as my dreams will lead me. Of course my ultimate cheerleader is "GOD" directing my footsteps one step at a time.

I have had to clean house of many things, people who were holding me back or didn't have my best interest at heart. There comes a time in life where you just get it. It has nothing to do with you, but more about "Me" and what I want for my life. Happiness Inside & Out. Genuinely to BE HAPPY. I'm on a mission for a "BETTER ME" and sometimes that means in order to expand your vision you must close the window on others.

I’ve encounter frustrations, distractions, challenges along the way. Things we all go through in life, however it has made me a "BETTER ME" because of it. I have truly come into my own . What that means is I have finally arrived to be comfortable in my own skin and that is ultimately a refreshing feeling to have. By me sharing my experiences , hopefully I can reach one teach one. You only live one life, make the most of it. With no disappointments and no regrets. I'm often ask what are your plans for the next 5 years? As I have said life is not a dress rehearsal, but the wedding planning process is. My career (drezrehersal) is a LIFESTYLE and my plan is to continue to live everyday like its a FABULOUS Party.
