Take Six with Celebrity Stylist Jazmayne Chatman featuring her altar ego Glam Squad.

Take Six Q & A of six personal questions with celebrities in the Fashion, Beauty, and Entertainment industry who are dancing to the tune of their own beat while staying true to self.

Take Six with Celebrity Stylist Jazmayne Chatman
featuring her altar ego Glam Squad

Jazmayne Chatman  a rising star in the hair industry. With less than five years of professional experience, she has styled for the likes of Bella & Zendaya of Disney Channel’s hit show Shake It Up, Bon Jovi, and Jaden Smith. Her secret to success being trained by greats in the industry, including her mother, celebrity hairstylist Tonya Cryer, along with Emmy-Award Winning stylist Hugo Coach.

As a teenager, Jazmayne spent weekends washing hair in her mother’s salon to make extra money. Initially, she did not envision a career in styling until she began braiding hair in high school and started a huge phenomenon of young girls rocking the original Alicia Keys look in 2001. After winning multiple hair show competitions while attending college, she discovered her love of creativity and transformation that ultimately change the course of her career endeavors.

Jazmayne quickly emerged as a key hairstylist in Los Angeles while embracing traditional hair care with innovative styling techniques; from weaving to coloring to outrageous avant garde creations all combing her love for high-end fashion in her hair creations. Jazmayne explains “I love expressing myself through hair, there are no boundaries.” Her creativity has led her to working on the set of Gwen Stefani’s video Harajuku Girls, which she notes as one of her biggest accomplishments thus far.

In addition to professional hair styling, Jazmayne is a self-taught makeup artist and fashion consultant. Her altar ego and creation of Glam Squad LA, a professional consultancy that combines her loves of hair, fashion, and makeup. From sweet sixteen celebrations to the runway, Jazmayne a one-stop shop for all things beauty, transforms clients from head to toe.

Jazmayne’s work ethic speaks for itself. She has been featured in publications such as LA Weekly , Black Sophisticates, and was a Top 20 finalist for both seasons of Oxygen’s Hair Battle Spectacularar.

Take Six Q1. Ms. Jazz extraordinary all things Fabulous, please share with our readers what you define as Fabulous?

A. Fabulous to me is being comfortable in your own skin. Having pretty pink and sparkly things are fun, but my definition of women with true confidence exudes Fabulosity.

Take Six Q2. A huge part of Glam Squad is the many faces you offer clients. Glam Squad equally altar ego and sister brand Princess Crownz which takes your clients from a five to a ten with three basic tools: scissors, styling comb, and a splash of color if their feeling extravagant. Share six altar ego styles and the transformation they each represent in one word?

A. All of my Hair Pieces are named after Celebrities and one after my Grandmother.
(1) Kate Frances is a short black European pageboy cut = CLASSY ; (2) Kelly Rowland is a Voluminous Kinky Curly Fro = SEXY ; (3) T-Boz inspired Razor Sharp Short Cut = EDGY ; (4) Azelia Banks = Teal, Blue & Green 28' Mermaid Hair = DARING ; (5) OMG Girl = China Doll bangs with three shades of purple = FUN and (6) Beyonce = DIVA

Take Six Q3. I'm extremely proud to see how you have maintain your professionalism and sense of style while expanding your brand even when work exceeds twelve hours on your feet often times no break in between. How do you manage staying passionate about the industry?

A. Thank You. As a young professional that is my favorite compliment. To keep an interest in hair styling, I take breaks away from it. Stepping away from the styling chair allows you to see all of the different trends and styles that are out there. Your clients want you to be innovative so its important for me to take the time to branch out while keeping a fresh perspective.

Take Six Q4. This is a question I'm sure our readers want to know. If a client brought you a photo of a style she was wanting and you knew it didn't work for her. Do you practice the customer is always right or do you keep it real and why?

A. When that happens, I always ask them to consider their occupation and lifestyle. Will their hair texture or up keep skills work with that look? There are a thousand questions that can be asked to ensure you meet the clients wants and needs. I'm definitely always honest with my clients.

Take Six Q5. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. That main tree is your Mom my client Ms. Tonya's of Hollywood who is currently working on the ABC hit show Scandal. Many individuals inside/outside the entertainment industry say and think “It's who you know, that makes things happen.” However, it takes more than that. You have acquired your celebrity styling status by creating your brand on your own terms. Please share a few words of wisdom and encouragement to stylists who desire to be where you are now and the main points they should focused on.

A. “Originality”. There are an enormous of professionals educated in this field. You “Must Stand Out” and show what makes you unique. “Perception” People should know you're a stylist at first glance. “Focus”on what YOU do well. I'm an extension/color specialist, I experiment and enhance my craft with furthering my education as often as possible. Don't minimize your craft by not continuing to educate yourself or others. Never get so big in the head to learn more; from anyone, all artist have something to share.

Take Six Q6. Ms. Jazz and the Glam Squad team not only making a name for themselves in lalaland, but globally as well. Fresh back from one of Atlanta's hot events “Bronner Bros International Hair Show” Share what we can expect from Jazz, Glam Squad, and Princess Crownz today, tomorrow, and the near future?

A. Its time for Jazmayne Chatman's brand to grow. I have all of this creativity and I need the right avenues to channel it. Princess Crownz is my new baby that is growing faster than I imagined. There is a huge market of women and children that wear prosthetic hair and I want to help them embrace their confidence in wearing natural looking, current styled wigs in a fashionable way that helps them feel comfortable in their own skin.

Bonus Ques. I believe in placing your desires into the “Universe” you've been blessed to work with clients such as LaToya Luckett, Actress Bresha Webb “Love that Girl”, Tae Heckard from BET, “The Game”, Mindless Behavior, and Edge Magazine, LLC.,but let me help you place good vibrations into the “Universe” Name two actresses, actors, or musicians you wish to style.
Tae Heckard-BET  The Game
Laura Govan-Basketball Wives LA

A. I would love to create Princess Crownz for Katy Perry, Azelia Banks & Tamar Braxton. These ladies wear their extensions proudly and would represent my brand well.

Take Six reply. And we're claiming it today. “Amen”

Take 6ix. Always a pleasure to sit down and speak with you Jazz. I know the sky’s the limit for your future as you are a force to be reckoned with in this industry.

Jazz motto is “Give me a vision and I’ll give you a transformation.”

With charisma, confidence, and business savvy, Jazmayne will be a trailblazer to stay a breast too. The passion along with creativity that Ms. Jazz possesses is only something that breeds from within. I'm looking forward to seeing you reach your highest potential as long as you stay grounded that each day is not only a blessing, but Gods divine desire for your life. Take Six with Courtney "Jaguar" Cameron

Take Six a Q & A of six personal questions with celebrities in the Fashion, Beauty, and Entertainment Industry who are dancing to the tune of their own beat, while staying true to self.
Courtney  Cameron, was introduced to the world as the very classy contestant on the highest rated show on VH1, For the Love of Ray J 2.

Following her appearance on For The Love of Ray J 2, where many of us got to know her as Jaguar. Courtney landed a top spot on XXL Magazines 2011 top 50 hottest VH1 Reality Stars; she has also appeared in several major music videos including Chris Brown, T Pain’s, “Kiss Kiss”, in addition to Birdman, Lil Wayne and DJ Khalid's "100 billion dollars".  Courtney is definitely making a name for herself just wrapping up her first feature film, a drama called Because I Love You, currently in its post-production phase.  Although, Courtney has proven time and time again that she is not just another pretty face, but an exceptional dancer who has performed for several up and coming artists in addition to head lining, and recently open up as a background dancer for the “I Can’t Feel My Face Tour,” the “Hypnotized” tour, and head lining Lil’ Wayne and Plies. In addition to dancing, in 2009 she landed an audition to star as the character Jasmine in the hit indie movie “Queen Pin”. This role proved to many that in addition to many other things Courtney is definitely a phenomenal budding actress. With the performing arts running rampant in her blood, Courtney has decided to finally pursue her true passion to sing, and has signed to Music Rehab Global as the first lady of EME (Elite Music Exchange). Courtney’s light yet soulful voice is sure to take over the Pop and R&B world.  An over achiever her whole life, Courtney’s work ethics are impeccable, willing to work around the clock in an effort to make her dreams a living reality, Courtney’s drive is continually one of her main characteristics that set her apart from the rest. Courtney is the perfect blend of talent, beauty, and brains all a winning combination that will surely rise her to the top.

Take 6ix with the First Lady of EME Music Rehab "Jaguar"

Take 6ix Q1.  As one of the actresses on the Reality Show you just filmed, how were you able to maintain your beauty regimen, seeing that you were in a rule area?
A. It was very hard to say the least, we didn't have ANYTHING! My "beauty regimen" was pretty much Chap Stick and finger coming my hair. (Chuckle Laughter).

Take 6ix Q2. As a model and music artist on the go what advice would you offer our readers  in maintaining a healthy lifestyle? Please also share your typical daily meal.
A. Well, the biggest advice I would give to readers, would be to enjoy eating, but stay active. I LOVE to eat, run, and dance several times a week. As long as you are doing something high energy at least once a week, it helps tremendously. A typical meal would start with eggs... I love eggs. In addition to sausage, and potatoes for breakfast; Lunch, well I'm a sucker for fast food, but dinner is usually grilled fish or chicken with plenty of sides.

Take 6ix Q3. Define what Beauty means to you?
A.  Beauty to me  is internal. Exuding confidence, personality, mixed with style, and the looks  you were born with.

Take 6ix Q4. As the first lady of EME Music Rehab what are the three things you always have with you while in the studio?
A. My little red book, which is my music bible that includes every idea and lyric that I write. I also need candles, and at times a glass of champagne.

Take 6ix Q5. We love the EME anthem song "Man I Hold My Own", with all the reality shows on air today, that don't truly represent the African American woman in a good light, what would you  like our readers to truly know about "Jaguar"?
A. Well, there are a few individuals on reality TV that make it seem as if women can't be anything unless a man is involved. I want to show young girls the only way to reach your goals, and dreams isn't just to marry an athlete, or have a baby by a rapper. Work hard, be sure of exactly what you want, and have STANDARDS. I work hard not just for myself, but to show our youth you can get what you want without having to compromise your beliefs.

Take 6ix Q6. If you had to compare your vocals to a musical artist today who would it be and why?
A. Honestly, I can't compare myself  to any artist today; my voice is a lot softer than the artists who are out. However, still very soulful.

Take 6ix Bonus Q. Share with our readers what Jaguar is currently working on?
A. Currently I'm hosting a show called "This Week In Fashion" for Bite Size TV. I also just finished a shoot for Hairfinity Hair Products, and a new Reality Adventure Show that is still currently in production. Although, I'm not at liberty to give full details about it, I can say it is action packed and will definitely premiere on a major network by Spring/Summer of 2013.

GLAM'ONDAY ALERT...WEEK #2 with SALLY HANSEN CRACKLE OVERCOAT POLISH

As promised it's week two & we're still testing out different color combinations with Sally Hansen new crackle nail polish. Last week I tested the crackle overcoat polish on my toes, so this week I'm feeling flirty & given attention to my nails. We'll I actually pampered myself last week, but you get to see the results this week.

How Does It Look?
Week #2 Tested w/ Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat
Fractured Foil underneath VIP PINK
Sally Hansen crackle overcoat polish was all the RAVE on Memorial Day. It took me a little time to get use too, until the compliments started rolling in. I quickly said to myself Sally Hansen may have something here. A glamnista is always prepared wherever she goes with an emergency style kit. I'll explain the details of an emergency style kit at a later date, now back to memorial day and the rave reviews. After family, friends, even future glamnista's (little girls) Ooh & Aah over the design, they all ASK where can we get the crackle polish? You're in luck I have some samples you all can try out. So we get a manicure-pedicure table going & went to town testing out colors. I must say it was pretty funny to see everyone argue over certain colors; hearing them say don't copy me. Hmmm where might have they heard that saying before? LOL.  The guys felt a little ignored that the ladies were all hovering over the mani-pedi table. Get a group of girls together where being glam is the topic, yes you loose our attention for a hour or two. Remember to check back next week for my week three design.  Remember we want to hear from you if you have purchased the crackle overcoat polish or had your manicurist apply for you. So, please leave your comments on the below link.

drezrehersal Tip...Keep it simple for the best results. For the future glaminista's (little girls) a precious mommy & me time is let your daughter have a variety of solid base coats on each nail, then placing a subtle Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat on top.

Until next time live FABULOUS...

GLAM'ONDAY ALERT...FUN & FLIRTY SUMMER with SALLY HANSEN

Summer is here and its time to get flirty with Sally Hansen new polish~Crackle Overcoat. OK this is not just any polish, but a polish for a girl who isn't afraid of receiving a little attention to be noticed. Summer time should be about fun, traveling, hitting the beach and we can't forget all the BBQ's you'll be attending. We all know what gets noticed the most next to a rocking bikini? Your nails & feet. A good mani-pedi is key for summer so let's get this summer crackling right.

Being a Go-to-Girl has its privileges. I received recently all 8 of Sally Hansen new addition to the well know beauty line "Crackle Overcoat". Sally Hansen as what is now the number one brand of nail care.

Sally Hansen~Fuchsia Shock
SKU #4169-04
What is Crackle Overcoat? Crackle Overcoat you apply one thin or thick coat over a solid nail color and within 60 seconds you have a very unique design. Having your own unique style set's you apart~ Never be a Carbon Copy walk in your own shoes creating your own style. Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat does just that...Application Tips: Do not apply to bare nails. Do not leave the bottle open, close tightly when not in use. Allow it to dry and seal with any Sally Hansen top coat. Each nail turns out completely different once the crackle overcoat sets in. Normally I'm not a big fan of polish on my nails, it truly depends on my mood & style. I like to keep it simple& chic on most occasions. When I want to feel flirty I'll turn it up notch and summer time brings on the fun & flirty.

Kimberly Tested with
Fractured Foil ~SKU169-03 , underneath color
Sally Hansen VIP Pink

Crackle Overcoat comes in 8 different shades which can be paired with any nail color. From vintage purple to mature metallic's, you can create a unique mosaic design that’s modern and sophisticated. I test it out on my toes using the fractured foil over Sally Hansen VIP Pink. I'm all about the toes and love to wear peek a boo sling back, sandals, flip flops whenever possible. You know what that means summer watch out. I guaranteed you anyone in your circle will be asking you. WOW let me see your hands. At first glance I must say it does look like that time to hit the nail salon. Getting up-close & personal an amazing look you want to rock all summer long.

Over the month of June,  I'll share images & different looks that we tested out and provide you my tips on getting the best style. I have also shared some samples with a few of my girls and look forward to seeing what unique styles they came up with. We definitely want to hear from you if purchased and tried the new crackle overcoat. So please share your story & images with us.

To learn more about Sally Hansen Fabulous
products visit Sally Hansen website or your
nearest beauty retailer.
drezrehersal Tip... The crackle overcoat may not be the best choice if you work in the corporate sector. However, works well for the weekend when you can relax and let go. Perfect for those in the entertainment industry, fashion or any creative field. Brides-to-Be getting married have a spa'rty for your bridal party hiring a professional to come in and offer your ladies mani-pedi using Sally Hansen 8 fun colors in addition to a masseuse, adding other fun services your girls would just rave over. Spa'rtys are a relaxing way to show the ladies just how much they mean to you. Our previous clients love to add this option to the I Do's nuptials. Should your wedding day be informal, definitely a fun & flirty accessory for your bridal party. Brides still stick to the basic french tip.
